Buck Grant started his martial art career in traditional Karate over 15 years ago. With an amateur Muay Thai record of 5-1, and after nearly 6 years of continuous training at the competition level, Buck retired from fighting. He was the original Muay Thai coach for Brandon "The Truth" Vera, Dorian Price, Shawn Yarborough, Dave Kaplin, and was a training partner for Jeff Curran. Over the next few years, He achieved the rank of purple belt in BJJ, and is now one of the highest ranking CSW instructors in Hampton Roads. Hybrid Academy of Martial Arts, owned and operated by Buck, has since become one of the most competitive MMA and Muay Thai schools in the Hampton Roads, VA. Team Hybrid is the home of over 20 Championship title holders, including UFC TUF 8 contender Antwain Britt. After nearly 7 years, Buck came out of retirement to fight MMA. In his first fight he defeated American Top Team Black Belt Marcio Siva by TKO. Buck competes for the love of the sport, and the desire to motivate his students. He fights for his Academy, which is his source of family and pride.
